This study aims to design and validate an integrated native model for digital management accounting centered on sustainable business development, addressing the research gap in combining advanced digital technologies with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) dimensions in internal reporting systems.Design/methodology/approach: A sequential mixed-methods approach was adopted. In the qualitative phase, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 25 experts in accounting, information technology, and sustainability using snowball sampling, and data were analyzed through theoretical coding. In the quantitative phase, the extracted model was tested through a questionnaire completed by 210 financial managers of companies listed on the Tehran Stock Exchange (determined by Cochran’s formula). Findings: The final model comprises six key factors influencing the successful implementation of sustainable digital management accounting: motivational factors, infrastructural factors, descriptive (enabling) factors, intervening factors, digital strategies, and feedback mechanisms. Structural model results indicated that all factors have a direct, positive, and significant effect on the adoption of digital management accounting systems (P < 0.0001). Digital strategies (β = 0.372) and descriptive factors (β = 0.355) showed the strongest effects. Model fit indices (including CR > 0.7 and AVE > 0.5 in most cases) confirmed the model’s validity. Findings underscore that integrating technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and cloud computing within a sustainability framework can enhance transparency, real-time decision-making, and organizational accountability.
