English

The aim of this research is to present and validate a model illustrating the impact of value and political orientations on corporate sustainability disclosure, with an emphasis on the role of accountability in the context of sustainable development. Sustainability disclosure, as a cornerstone of corporate reporting, plays a vital role in achieving transparency and sustainable development goals. However, challenges such as the influence of managers' value and political orientations and weaknesses in accountability mechanisms have limited the effectiveness of such disclosures.
Adopting a qualitative approach and an exploratory design—utilizing content analysis and interviews with academic and professional experts—this study identified key dimensions, including public-interest-based values, liberal perspectives, accountability for sustainable development, and sustainability disclosure. Seventy-three open codes were identified and classified into four axial codes; these were subsequently integrated at a higher level into selected categories: political ideology, accountability, and sustainability disclosure.
